Useful Resources
There are lots of ways to learn about and grow in the Christian faith. You can read the bible. You can pray. You can meet with others. There are also lots of useful resources on the internet. Here are just a few we like.
Taize Community
An ecumenical Christian community based in France. Known for music and silent meditation.
Bible Gateway
This site includes full text of the bible in many translations with a search facility to find specific passages. There are also reading plans and daily devotionals. Available as an app.
Laughing Bird
Nathan Nettleton of South Yarra Community Baptist Church puts a contemporary Australian spin on the bible. While it does not contain a full text of the bible it does follow the standard lectionary. Also included are seasonal resources, sermons, and prayers
The Church of England
This is the Anglican Church in England. Daily prayers are available. Plenty of practical information on learning to pray
Methodist Church in Britain
In the prayer and worship section of the website there are resources including Prayer of the Day and a self contained Daily Bible Study.
Pray as You Go
An online prayer community founded by the English province of the Society of Jesus, linking praying Christians of many traditions around the world. There are daily podcasts with bible reading, music, and reflection time. Available as an app.
Sacred Space
This site is run by the Irish Jesuits. It includes a daily bible reading, prayer, and reflection that can be read or listened to. Available as an app.
